Zen Japan is a Japanese vegan restaurant that offers a menu featuring miso soup, tofu dishes, salted pickled vegetables, noodles, vegetable dishes, rice dishes, tea, and more. All dishes are fresh, boiled or steamed. Diners choose small tasting dishes from the blackboard menu and order at the counter. Each dish is prepared fresh and customers are called to the bar to collect the dishes as they are ready. The restaurant has a fun Izakaya (Japanese pub style) like atmosphere with traditional Japanese style floor seating. Bookings and phone orders are not accepted. The restaurant accepts cash only. Zen Japan also sells groceries from green tea to organic miso paste, as well as gifts (Japanese crafts, art, clothes, books, anime, manga, and kitchenware).
