Located right in the heart of Cape Town, Addis in Cape is a restaurant that offers Ethiopian cuisine, which is famous for its rich aromas and generous use of herbs and spices. Menu has a vegetarian and vegan section. Spicy dishes are marked in the menu. Set menus and combos are also offered. Food is presented in a beautifully woven basket-like table called a Mesob. The dishes are served together on a large plate which is layered with a pancake-like sourdough base called Injera. Injera is used to scoop up the various sauces and stews called Wot. Cutlery is not used here. Drinks include fresh juices, soft drinks, tea, cocktails, bottled beers, and Tej (Ethiopian honey wine). The restaurant also provides a mini coffee ceremony, wherein Ethiopian coffee is brought to diners in a traditional coffee pot called a Jabena. Everything is gluten-free and Halal-friendly.
