Being a small vegetarian restaurant, Hitchcock's only opens when enough people book, usually 15 to 20 are sufficient, either a single group or several separate bookings. This is mainly due to their location which is situated in a rather quiet area of the Old Town and therefore tends to discourage walk-in trade. Menu for the evening is chosen by the first person to book for that night and is usually based on the cuisine of a particular country. Some popular choices include Japanese, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Mexican, Thai, Cajun, Indian, Russian and Middle Eastern; though the restaurant also tackles more unusual requests such as Nepalese, Patagonian, Israeli, Tibetan, German and even English. Styles can also be combined. Food is served as an eat-as-much-as-you-like buffet with a set menu price. The restaurant also has a full bar.
