Situated near Massillon Museum, The Root is a 100% plant-based cafe that offers a menu featuring homemade gluten-free soups, salads, starters (loaded nachos, loaded fries, chili fries, hummus platter, chickpea salsa, Mediterranean quinoa), burgers, sandwiches, wraps, pasta dishes, homemade 16-inch pizzas, and kids' meals. Gluten-free options are available. All burgers, sandwiches and wraps are served with the house seasoned chips. Meatless burger patties are made from beets and pea protein among other ingredients. Their version of pulled pork is slow-roasted jackfruit in homemade sweet and smoky bbq sauce. Wraps can be made into a platter and served with fresh cut fries and slaw. Pasta dishes come with a house salad and the house Italian herb and cheese bread unless otherwise specified. Customers can create their own pizzas. Vegan cheese is made in-house. Organic, non-GMO produce and products are used in food preparation. They have a completely dedicated gluten-free kitchen. Customers order and pay for food at the counter, and then pick up their orders when their names are called. Outdoor seats are available. Food can be ordered for takeaway.
